School Tours
 


Fish River Trees
offers a fun-filled and educational tour of its Christmas Tree and nursery operation. We specialize in school tours for k-3 level, but groups of all ages are welcome.
All tours must be scheduled in advance, and a small per person or per student fee is charged
to cover expenses. Tours normally last 1-2 hours but can be tailored to specific needs.

A large group of students from George Hall Elementary School in Mobile enjoys lunch on the farm.

 




Long Tour : $5/per student, includes the following:

1. Tree Train Tour of the farm and nursery with educational stops.

2. A tree planting experience to include basics of proper tree planting and care, how trees grow, function of roots, leaves and needles, soil, sun, etc.

3. A wreath and garland making demonstration.

4. Walking tour to learn different types of trees, experience the feel and aromas of trees, the importance of tress and how they are grown in the field and nursery; a visit with the reindeer, etc.

Note: Adult Tour Groups can be tailored to include all aspects of tree farming and nursery
operations and specialty crop marketing.

5. Long tour includes hot chocolate and a complimentary educational coloring book for each child.


Short Tour : $2/per student, includes the following:

1. Tree Train ride of the farm and brief stops to view various aspects of Christmas Tree farming
and nursery operation.

2. A walking tour to view the different trees, the reindeer, wreath and garland making, etc.
